711 or 712 or ?

Any advice on tires for 245 50 16? I have been looking for a while and now it is raining here in CA and I need to decide. The 711 are only $57 per tire at the tirerack. I drive hard and the car has 140K, so high mileage is not an issue, but price is.

You can compare them on there, they are almost the same.

my car had 712s on it when i bought it. they suck compared to my hankook HR405II. but theyre still cheap tires, you get what you pay for. theyre $63.81 each from www.roadwaywholesaletire.com . they were pleasant to deal with and had quick shipping

I have a set of Supra 712s and for the money I paid ($380 installed including tax/fees), I'm very happy with them. I realize not the best tire, but for the value, I don't think you can really go wrong. It looks like they've dropped in price since I bought them as well..

I put 711's on my car this summer and love them. They grip really well....not as good as others but you can't beat the price. I paid $256 for four tires. Plus you don't feel as bad about burning them off once in awhile.

I have put 711's on two cars now. On my 94, with pretty good suspension, they felt alright and handled pretty well. With my 91, with worn springs and shocks/struts, and a lot more grunt down low, they are beginning to show their flaws. For one, they are a rather stiff tire and not as sticky as I would like on my car. But seriously, for everyday driving and the price, they can't be beat IMO.

I had them both and they are decent tires, hard to beat the price/performance ratio.
The only issue I had with both tires is that when it's cold outside, they don't grip at all till they get warm. You will be pleased with either style.
I am currently running BFG G-Force T/A KDW tires and these are probably the best street tire ever. I love these things, but they are pricey, $135 or so each at Tirerack and Discount Tire Direct. The Kumho 711 has a very similar tread pattern to the KDW too.

i had a complete stet of bfg comp t/a zrs and when the rear tires mysteriously wore at at twice the rate of the front, heh heh heh, i replaced the rears with a set of 711s. i was very impressed with them, i have all new bmr suspension stuff with very stiff springs, i even had the car on the road course a couple days this june. they were awesome, for the price. i was very inpressed with the grip.

I am going for it! I am going to order the 711 because they are cheap and sound decent. The reviews on the tire rack are funny, every 8th one says: don't ever buy this tire they will self destruct and kill you, the sidewalls are junk, no grip etc and the rest are all good. I can see cords now on the old tires. I am beginning to see a pattern, I got the dynomax cat back because of the cost...
