I'm thinking about deleting my AC stuff. I've heard that you lose about 50 lbs in the front of the AC stuff is removed. If this is done....will the front of my car raise up?...I know it's 50 lbs...but..before I do it...I would like to make sure...

Hm. I pulled mine out years ago; never thought to measure it. I doubt you'll raise up that much. The bulk of the weight is the compressor... so... if you've got a good friend (or an engine hoist or any other kind of block-n-tackle pulley setup), you could test it out. Measure the front fender lip to the ground. Then unbolt the a/c compressor from it's brackets and give it to your friend to hold (or hook it to a hoist, depends on how nice your friend is) in the air. Then bounce the front suspension a bit (so everything re-settles out), and measure the front fender lip to ground again.

Hopefully your friend can keep holding the a/c compressor in the air the whole time

That's a good question. I never even thought twice about the front end possibly coming up after I deleted the AC from my car. If you can wait until tomorrow, I'd be more than willing to throw the stock AC parts back on and measure the front fender lip before and after, like TomP suggested. My car does still seems to have the small rake that it had when I bought it (rear end slightly higher than the front). Now I'm curious, though, but even if it does affect the height, I can't see it moving more than 1 cm at the most.

Now that I think about it, I think the type of springs installed would have an affect. I'm running on the stock RS springs, but I know you have Eibach lowering springs. Does anyone think that will make much of a difference?

if you had stiffer springs, wouldnt the change be more noticeable because of the higher spring rate?

I dont think you would notice with just 50 lbs i can stand on my front springs and they will barely go down.

i deleted my AC and there is no difference in the height of the car, nothing i can actually notice, stock springs, i am sure it's at least 1mm higher but yeah... nothing noticeable.

Well, last night I decided to try this. I put as many of the stock AC parts that I had back on and tryed to compensate for the weight of the misc. bolts and brackets that I couldn't find, and a full charge of refrigerant. I measured from various places before and after, and I tried to get as accurate measurements as I could get. After all this, I came to the conclusion that the car sits 1/24" lower with the AC installed. Not even noticeable.

Four years ago I removed the AC, the smog pump and most emissions, replaced heavy exhaust manifolds and Y pipe with headers, replaced heavy air box with open element box. I did not measure, but there is a visable increase in front height.
