What is the advantage of having a BW 9-Bolt over the normal 10-bolt? IS the BW unit stronger? Does it still have the dreaded c-clips?

yes it is stronger, no c-clips, and 4 spider gears in the diff vs. the 2 in a 10 bolt. I had one in my 89 IROC... but they're hard to find in the popular axle ratios. mine was a 2.77... getting lower ratio's is either very expensive, or hard to find.... or both i guess. Overall... now that I have a 10 bolt, I have to say that the 10 bolt is much easier to live with. parts are WAY more accessible, ring/pinions can be had right out of the summit catalog, blah blah blah... n' I still haven't had a failure with slicks on. No, I don't have a trans brake...

1320 pretty much coverd it. a borg rear is/was rumored to be as strong as or stronger than a dana 44.

there is one place i know of to get parts for these rears. miles at diff soultions.
WWW.DIFFSOULTIONS.COM or WWW.9BOLT.COM

2 addys same site.
