'sport coupe' rear springs vs V6 rear springs
My 86 started life as a pretty basic lg4 sport coupe camaro. No special z28 or iroc packages.
My question is are the rear springs on this car the same as v6 rear springs? I'm asking this because I'm going with either a full v6 or 4 cylinder spring set up (or maybe even trick springs up front ) for drag racing and wanted to know which models have different rear springs.
I need this information fairly soon, as I will be starting winter break shortly and need to get a lot of mods done in a short time!
Thanks for any help you can provide

Car: 1989 Camaro IROC-Z
Engine: L98 350 TPI
Transmission: Built TH-700 R4 (Vilgilante 2800)
Axle/Gears: 9 bolt w/ PBR's
To add to what mw66nova said, I know that out of all springs IROC-Z prings are the most stiff(dont know if this is also the case for 91-92 Z28s also)

Alright so as long as nobody swapped in iroc springs, which i HIGHLY doubt i've got them.
Anyone else know if there is difference between base v8 and v6 springs?

For front springs, yeah, V6 & V8 got different ones, but I think you were asking about the rear only.
And, I'm not sure about the rear. Call a GM dealer and ask for a price/part number for rear V6 springs. Then call another dealer and ask for price/part number on rear V8 springs; see what number it comes out to be.

I called the dealership, it appears they only offer 1 type of spring as a replacement from GM.
So I couldn't really get a good idea if the rears were indeed different of not, But i'm going to assume that all base rear springs are the same for v6 and v8.
