S&WRacecars' Roll Cages?

Anyone used or have any real world experience with S and W Race Cars' 10 pt roll cages and sub-frame connectors? Is it their own design cage, or are they just a re-boxed CE cage? How are the bends and how comprehensive is the kit?

Thanks in advance for the input and comments

Tony,
I definately enjoyed seeing your car at thirdgenfest. are you planning on bringing it out again this coming year in 05 ?

I should have mine back from paint by then and it'll be all one color for once.

I've got an S&W 14 point in my 68 bird. I've also installed an S&W 6 point in an 88 GTA. The next project is installing a 14 point in the turbo car in my sig. We have the cage sitting down the shop, now I just need to find the time to do it. I have however, half *** mocked it up and I will say that I love the fit of S&W cages. Light years beyond anything I've seen from competition eng. So yeah, they are definitely not reboxed versions. I've never used their subframe connectors, but, we do have one of their adjustable torque arms in the turbo car already, and had it in well before it was "the turbo car". That worked great too, we were consistent 1.6 1.7 60 fts. with solid 12.7's all motor on 255/50/16 BFG drag radials. Enough from me, I've just yet to have a bad experience with them. Hell, when I recieved the 6 point for the GTA the floor plates were lost in shipping. One phone call and I had a new set a couple days later, no hassles. I say go for it, good stuff.

Only thing I didn't like about the kit was the swing outs. If you get them, there in a 2 piece weld together form for each side. So you got to put a bolt in them before you weld. Else the top bolt hole and the bottom hole can get distorted. Mine got a little tweaked after that but nothing a die grinder couldn't fix. I think Comp Engineering has a 1 piece prefab weld on.

If I did it over again I would still use the S&W kit, but just order the comp engineering swing outs out of summit or jegs.

Thanks that is what I wanted to know.

As the car will strictly be a bracket car, I am not concerned with the swing out kit.

I like S&W's work. I bought thier sportsman (14 point) cage for my 78 trans am. Pretty good over all fit.

All of S&W's stuff is 'made in house' no reboxed brand X. They go all the bending, cutting, welding, etc on thier stuff.

Shipping was pretty fasy, and fair price wise. Fed Ex shipping
