Ball Joints
ok, I'm getting ready to change my springs (front and back) and rpl my shocks and struts...Im gonna rpl my (lower) ball joints (they're wasted)... The venders here in south jersey seem to have either TRW, which come in one size, or perfect circle which come in stock size, and also they offer an oversized more expensive version...Ive never heard of perfect circle parts, and Im leary..But also, Ive heard people slam TRW, and yet rave about Moog (go figure--same company)..Gonna do the big suspension upgrade Friday night after work, so that rules out ordering from the internet, so Im stuck local.. Which in your opinion is the better choice...Also changing my swaybar links, again perfect circle offers 2 types, stock and high performance...But on this, my parts store offers moog, I thought I'd just get the moogs..

You won't need the oversized ones, unless for some reason things are mangled, and the stock size won't fit in right.
I would recomend going to Napa, and getting the Napa Chassis line ball-joints. They are a very nice peice.

Check the stock numbers for NAPA's lower line and you'll see they match the TRW part numbers. I've had good luck with TRW parts. Good advice from Dewey316.

I haven't had an issue with TRW or Perfect Circle, and they are decently priced.

Those two threads should cover every front end part.

Use a spring compressor when you take them out (you can rent one at autozone) as the spring will still be under some compression when you drop the a-arm down. It also makes it alot easier to reinstall. Make sure you've got them indexed when you put them in.

Well all the parts are in and WOW what a difference..The worst part was removing the old sway bar links, what a pain that was...It was a bit scary popping out the old front springs, the spring compressor we had was too small for the springs, so we used a pry bar, (after lowering the A arms) but it all worked out...I was shocked how small the moog iroc springs looked when comapred the oem springs, when placed side by side..The Moogs were smaller, like about 2 inches or so and a whole lot meatier than oem, so they were easier to put in because they are shorter.. Anyway, after new springs, shocks, ball joints, swaybar links and an idler arm it rides and handles like or better than it did in 1992 when it was new... All you guys that mention suspension upgrades over/ or before drive train or performance upgrades, Heres to you: (CHEERS!
) !!!!!!
I ended up going with the sensatrack shocks/struts, and honestly, they feel great..This is the second pair I put on..And the first pair was with the OEM springs (saggy) and I think that was the deal breaker..My old sensatracks never, not even on their first day felt this good..Now I blame them old OEM springs for all my evil thoughts towards Sensatracks...Its really sweet to be able to rip through cork screw corners while speeding up, ahhh the old days are back!!!...Now I truely remember why I love this car
I must mention that the old saggy springs looked alot better, the stance was pretty cool looking...Truth be told, Im not use to seeing all that space in the front between the tire and fender, looks like Im in the pop-a-wheely mode... But I think the front will settle down a little in time...Although the new stance is kinda weenie looking, I love the way it drives

Yeah, new springs and suspension parts make your **** feel like new!!! I would always suggest to anyone to freshen up the suspension before going nuts with engine work.
I know what you mean about the sagging springs giving a nice look. My Z had some old, nasty springs, then when I replaced them with Eibach Pro springs it still raised the frontend slightly. By now it has settled some, but not too much. Close to where it sat before. At least the rearend gap was tightened up alot, looks much better! Coil overs coming next I think!!!
Your springs will settle some, but not that much. Just remember, you can't see the fender gap while you are driving with a hot blonde's head in your lap!!
