Limits of BFG Drag Radials

Could a set of 255/50/16 BFG's dead hook with 400 hp and stock style suspension? I know it really impossible to answer, but I'm trying to figure out how well these tires really hook.

should. i would get a set of 15inchers and put some 275/50/15's if you could. the side walls are a little more forgiving.

I would definitely go 15's, but I want to keep the stock wheels. What 60's is everyone pulling with these tires?

Lookup TRAXION. He ran a 11.6@117 on those tires, and they bit right off the line - he has the vid! He was making near 400 to the wheels.

Edit: TRAXION's site

Why the heck are you going to choke that motor with Flowtech headers?

Car: 1 68 bird, 2 87 birds, a 92 bird...
Engine: carb'ed 305 in the 87, yuck...
Transmission: 700R4, for now....
The camaro in my sig, before the turbo's pulled 1.6 60 fts. with an S&W race cars torque arm, and Hotchkiss control arms. 255/50/16 drag radial on chrome IROC's. No idea on now, never made it to the track this year....

Motor is a 383 with a hydraulic roller, mid 500's for lift, Dart Pro 1 215cc heads. Convertor was a 3200 stall and the tranny was a 700R4. Any other questions?

Damn, any wheel spin at all? The reason I am asking is because I plan on spraying a 150 shot off the line with my bolt on L03 and I am not sure if my current nittos will be able to hook. Will I need to step up to the BFG's? I do not want to go the M/T route because I feel the tread design if poor for a daily driver.

With ours it wasn't a dead hook out of the hole, heat them up, stage, come out about half throttle and be floored by three or four car lengths off the line. Gave us consistent 1.7's with the occasional 1.6.

I've decided to go ahead and buy the BFG's. Just don't think the Nittos will be able to hook with the hit of nitrous.
