Which front tires/size for 17x9 rim?
Well, I traded for a set of 17x9" 10-spokes off an SS and some tires. I have a set of Nitto NT555RII's in 275/40R17 for the rears, but I'm going to need some new front tires. For highly spirited street driving, what size/brand tire should I grab? I don't need any all-season stuff...just summer. I bought a set of winter tires for a reason.
To give an idea of the car..
The car currently has WS6 36/24mm bars, KYB GR-2s and Gas-A-Justs, swaybar endlinks, and a TDS Wonderbar. By next summer, it will have new springs (Pro-Kit or something similar...don't want a big drop), poly swaybar bushings, LCAs, SFCs.
I'm thinking something like a 255/40R17, maybe? And then what brand/model tire? I'd like to keep the tires at ~$150 each. The cheaper the better obviously. On www.discounttiredirect.com I can get some Nitto NT555's for $130 each. Would these be one of the better choices? I want a stiff sidewall and something that grips very well.

This is exactly what your car will look like including the Nittos.

That is the perfect stance I want for my car...what springs are you running?
Tires...555's up front and 555RII's in back? Do you run these when you autocross too?
Oh and by the way, NICE car. It looks great. I'll probably be PMing you sometime soon for some more info on the paint job. I'm planning on painting mine black myself as well.

I swapped in an entire Koni suspension from an 84. Shocks/struts/swaybars. I did use the Z28 rear springs though, the Konis actually made the rear end stand up. I cut 1 coil off of the stockers. It has home-made SFC's and a homebuilt panhard bar with heim joints. The trailing arms are Spohn.
These are with the old Goodyears 275 all the way around.

to be honest I'll have to go out and look, I think they're 555's
I lost track of this post, that's why it took so long to get back, sorry.
