Quick Bilsteins strut question

OK I just got the bilstein strut in (only got the right side done tonight) The stock shock had a nut with a washer made into it so that the strut is center in the strut tower. My question with the new one is that am I suppose to get a washer and put it one before the new nut? I tighten down the new ones but it never got tight I can still turn the bolt even though I get it down as much as I could? I got a pic just in case I got you confused with my bad wording. I have the old one verse the new one, old was on top of the rusty piece the new one is in the rusty thing (have no idea what its called)

THe progress

Too err is human

Not to catch the error through thorough inspection of your completed labor is idiot

You answered your own mistake- thus you are not an idiot
Well done.

There is an old saying that I live by- "Measure twice- cut once"

And he will learn the $20 investment for a haynes manual will be the best thing he's done. For stuff like that I hate trying to find somebody else's advice on how to do stuff and wondering if it's accurate.

got it and the stock has a different style of connecting to the shock tower, rather than a washer between the two it has one built into the nut to keep it centered.
