i cant wait either, if the price is compairable to koni yellows and some springs, i will probably go coil over. he did post pics in the control arm thread
I'm waiting on pics as well, hopefully installed pics and more detail about them. I am very curious about the shock options for the kit. I don't understand the people who have already placed an order or who have vowed to buy them without even seeing the finished product yet. I dunno about you, but I like to evaluate a product before I make a purchase.

I'm also very interested in this coil-over kit. I picked up a set of KYB GR-2/Gas-A-Justs last year, but I need new springs this summer, and I figure if I could get a nice coilover setup together, that'd be awesome. I'm all for weight savings, and since I'm going to need new springs, I might as well get better shocks/struts.
I PM'd Kat the other day asking about prices/availability or anything but she didn't get back to me. It'd be nice if we knew when to expect this kit as well. And whether the front and rear kits will be available at the same time.

I called and talked to Steve right after the first and he said they were like a week or two out on them still. He said the front fit was gonna be around 250ish and the rear would be around $500 with the QA1's.

I did manage to see the page before it was pulled back down. Been about a week or so back now. They have since updated the link and it doesn't go to the actual coil over page anymore. There wasn't a price, but it said something about 3 plate assembly. And unlike other makers they will not require grinding to get the plate to fit which can cause weak points in the fender wells. I'm kicking myself for not saving the page now. Oh well as with everything else Spohn builds I'm sure it will be a top notch product.

d'oh! Typo screws us all over
Hmm $250 for the front isn't bad, but you have to have the tubular A-arms as well, correct? Which would make the price roughly $550, which still isn't too bad. $500ish for rears I guess ain't bad when you factor in the price of the shocks and springs. Guess I'll be savin up for these

You can use your stock a-arm. It doesn't matter since the coil over kit has nothing to do with the a-arm at all.
You do have to remove the stock spring tho..
"Uhhh why is my car riding so stiff now after installing the coil over it? Well did you remove the stock spring? Uhhhh nooo" lol I can see it now. lol

Ah interesting...I thought you would need to since the tubular A arms can be ordered with or without the spring pockets. I was under the impression the spring pocket ones wouldn't work with the coilovers and I was a bit upset.
That's very good news, that means I'll have some coilovers on my car this summer without much problem I wouldn't think. The sooner the better for these...I need new springs, and I actually haven't gotten around to changing my drvier's side strut yet (changed the passenger one months ago... lol) so my struts are probably screwed anyways.

The K member is in the works.. In due time it will be done. Once the coil over kit gets finished (waiting on getting the sleeves machined then the K member will progress rather quickly I believe.

Can't wait till it comes out.... I know it's hard to say, but do you think it will be out sometime early this spring? The car's coming into the shop here in the next few days for tear down and I hope to have something to put back in there before all the big shows....
P.S. If you need a "test" car for the prototype, let me know, I call dibs on volunteering for that one.....

The harshness depends on what spring rate you choose.
As for a test car.. Well I think my IROC is bit ahead of you guys.. Actually I think the 84 TA at work is even more ahead of the iroc. lol
As for a time frame no clue. Depends on how long it takes to have the laser cutting cut and bend the stuff. Then figuring out placement of a-arm mount boxes, then the real task...... Building the jig. Thats what takes the most time.. Steve spent 2-3 weeks on building the a-arm jig for example.

Well first I wasn't asking for a suspension lesson from you. I've got plenty of that under my belt from the years with past projects. Never said I was looking for a Caddy ride BUT it doesn't mean that you have to have a car that jars your teeth out to get a good performer. That is old school thinking. Besides I was thinking of the adjustabilty of the coils in that kit might give me what I am looking for in terms of having a chioce to make the springs a little looser for the days I"m not into carving corners. You come drive on my Alaskan roads then come talk to me about living with a rough ride. Besides I think your sarcasim was a little uncalled for. We would all like to have the best of both worlds. Nothing wrong with looking for an improvement or asking a simple question.

You can NOT change spring tension on standard coilovers without changing the entire coilspring out for a softer or firmer coil. Only 2stage adjustable Coilovers can do this with a separate preload adjuster.

When is this coil over kit going to be released? I'm defenitly getting new a-arms but I can't decide until the coil overs are done. Any clue how much longer?
Also is the K-member next or the rear coil overs?
