Good deal on these rims?

I went to get new tires today at disount tire. A guy who works there was putting 17's on his 4th gen camaro. I asked him if he wanted to sell his factory chromes 16's. He said $150 for all 4. Sounds like a great deal but I need to know if I can take the tires of my factory 91's (16") and put them on 4th gen rims.

Also....what about spacers on the fronts.

I'd totally search this topic, but I havent been able to use the search feature here for the past few days (anyone else?). I know this has comeup a hundres times or more, but I never bothered to read more into it (oops).

Anyway....can anyone help me out?

you will need spacers for the thirdgen rear

Price sounds good though (paid $100 for stock 15"!!)

That is a good price for wheels.
you will need 4 spacers, 2" to 2.25" for the front and 1.5" to 2" on the rear.

If you are planning on eventually getting a 4th gen rear, buy 4 front sized spacers, that way you can sell the extra pair to someone easier. That is what I did when I bought my first set of spacers back in 2001, purchased a set of 2.25" spacers from Vettebrakes for $353 shipped.

Geez....I had no idea that the cost of spacers could be so prohibitive to getting different offset wheels. But....they'll look great. I found a set of 4 (5 x 4.75) adapters for $200 shipped.

I guess thats still reasonable. But now my only concern is whether or not I can use the tires I currently have on my stock rims. Arent the 4th gen rims .5 - 1.0" wider?

Nope they are 16x8 just like our 16x8 wheels. I have 4th gen salad shooters on my car right now for the winter, I got the set for $60. $150 for those rims is a hell of a price though. Usually go for $250-300+ (for the chrome ones).

I think if I found a deal like that, I would have bought those for my summer rims instead of trading my old TA black mesh ones for 17" SS 10spokes!!

Not a bad price, I got a pair of them for $60 from a member here on the boards. I already have a 4th gen rear so I only needed the spacers for the fronts.
