400HP,435TQ through stock suspension
I have a 83 camaro z28 with a 383 stroker with 400HP, 435TQ. TH-350 tranny. everythingelse is stock. the motor was installed late last summer and was still being broken in before it went into storage for the winter so i haven't push it yet. i was just wondering how the rear end, axles. springs ect.. would take the extra load. Will the frame take the load aswell? or does it need to be supported. if u could provide a list of the parts that should be replaced that would be great!
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
P.S what would be the best gear for an engine thats peak rpm in about 5k?
Thanks

My suspension is stock other than air bags and sfc's. I run 12.25 @ 110 with ET Streets and a best 60ft of 1.69.

Click the search button and do a few searches. It ought to help immensely.

I think everyone on here would say that you need to beef up everything regardless of how well its been treating you so far.
At least begin with the frame:
sub frame connectors
strut tower brace
wonder bar (check out spohn's)
torque arm
Then go to suspension bits:
LCA's w/ relocation brackets
Panhard
Shocks/Struts
Sway bars
That should have you set pretty good and that is the order that i would look into buying them. Expect $1000+ to really set you on your way. You can find all of those parts and more at the sites sponsor (spohn)

I think sub frame connectors would be a really good idea for a car making that much torque. The wonder bar would be good also because the frame tends to crack without them over time.
Lower control arm relocation brackets seem to make a noticable different even by themselves. Youll probably bust that rearend in no time though once you start getting good traction and hooking up.
