? on the stock streeing box

hey guys i just got some new tires and i ask for an aligment so it was a lil off the toe in so that was fix.but i have a lil pay and they told me its the s.box that is probaly wearn out in the inside is this true?he said all my bushing and tie rods look good.were can i get a good new or reman s.box and wat they usually sell for?

well thanks alot,that looks really cool but to pricecy.i found a local parts store that carrys them rebuilt for $150.now wats the diffrence of a z s .box the quick ratio or the standard s.box?

I had mine rebuilt here. http://www.circletracksteering.com/products.htm Looks and works great after the rebuild. Fast turn around, about 1 week with shipping, but I within 150 miles.

$125 + shipping both ways.

Note the ratios on the web site....I have the 12:1 on mine as stock. Find out what you have. It can be upgraded on a rebuild.

that sounds cool.i can just pull one from the junkyard and send it to them.but wat is the stock ratio and then wats that fast ratio box?wats the diffrence

I can't say with certainty for the RS models. I think the stock was the progressive rate 16:1. The quick ratio is a linear 12:1. That's the one you want. That came stock on a certain cars. I know the late model Z28s had them, and the WS6.

Call Circle Track Steering and ask him (Larry Whitlow), he'll know. There's a fee for converting a box to 12:1, but I don't know it off-hand.

so with the 12.1 ratio my car will turn quicker right?but will the turning angle be the same?
