Help with TT2s 17x9.5s

i made a post recently about my 15x10s. i decided instead of trying to cram my 15x10s in the fender i will just get 17s. i know that this question has been all over and beaten to death but i want to get a straight 100% answer because i dont want to have any doubts and make sure that i get the right setup. i just want 17x9.5 in the back. i already have fronts. what backspacing and offset is needed. i heard 5.5 is this true. i really dont understand the offset. 17X9.5 +8 mm offset 5.50backspacing and 5-5.00 bolt pattern. is this right. that was the wheel i was looking at. help me with picking the right one this time. thanks

I don't know anything about backspacing or offset either, but I do know that our lug patterns are 5x4.75, not 5x5.00.

Hey Chris,

In the October 99 edition of Chevy High Perrformance, they upgraded the suspension on a third gen camaro, including 17 inch wheels (Torque Thrusts). They recommended 5.5 inches of backspacing for 17x9.5s and 4.5 inches for 17x8s.

Heres 17x9.5" TTII on all 4 corners, with 275/40/17's on all 4

you think 295s are too big for 9.5 inch rims

Yes.

The optimal width for 9.5" is 275.
