Grease this?

When you install new ball joints and front rotor bearings is it really necessary to pack the dust boot and rotor full of grease or is it good just to get bearing greased good?

yeah just don't go way too overboard. The dust boot should not bulge much with the excess. The rotor should be fairly well packed too.
