Help, rear passenger tire axel area knocks when accerlated hard

When I hit the gas hard on my 1990 rs a loud knock or thud comes from the rear passenger tire area( only one knock or thud every time i hit it hard, no a bunch or anything just one intial knock ), i have been told maybe sway bar bushings, or shock in back , possibly even a transmission mount, also if i kick the top of the rear passenger tire it moves in some and bounces back out, any help would be appreaciated, thanks

Remove the wheel, might make it a little easier, just a little....

I've had a similar problem in three different 3rd gens. All three were the tranny mount.

Sounds like a broken swaybar ENDLINK to me.

It's likely that it's a busted tranny mount and it only sounds like it's coming from the rear. Either that, or having your car lowered w/o LCA brackets may do it as well.

I got a good deal on my first bird because the guy didn't know what to do about the noise. Ended up being tranny mount.

the mounts dont last long at all esp if you are hard on the car, so it could have ripped again. put a energy suspension poly mount in there and it will never rip again.

I've had a similar sound come from a few different things. Panhard, control arm, and trans mount. Check the torque on the bolts too. Don't overlook the exhaust as well.

It was the swaybar endlink bushing on mine, passenger side.

Control arm bushing on mine. Horrible knock that I chased for a while. Just pull them laterally back and forth and check for movement.
