I am thinking of removing my front swaybar to run at the drag strip. I do however have to drive my car to the track.

My question is, how will this make my car handle on the street?
Its not a daily driver, but I do take occasional drive in it. I know I will have to be easy in the corners, but will this make the car awful to drive?

well my car is slow, but i dont have a front sway on anymore and i have 70/30 drag struts with the prokit on. 50/50 shocks in the back with stocker 24mm bar.

i still take turns hard.

sometimes i forgot i dont have it on, i daily drive mine also.
braking and everything still works fine.

I removed mine on both the third and 4th gen and it's pretty much like what MD said. The biggest difference is with shock settings.

got no front sway bar and some really worn out front struts, car is driven everday around some pretty scary turns. just can't take them at 70mph like i used to in the RS. i don't believe i will be putting it back on anytime soon either, thing weighs like 15-20lbs.!

never thought I'd use that icon

Been covered countless times, you've heard from a few others and I will even attest you will not even notice it's gone.

It will ruin your handling, bringing it down to Buick or Lincoln Towncar levels.

I did!! Just wanted to get some info first hand.

I have sagging springs and worn struts and shocks also. The car does have good weight transfer, but I think I will take the sway bar off. I can always put it back on.

Thanks guys for the info. Now if I can just get my garage floor poured and it warms up a bit. Track opens first of april.

it's a 10min. job to take it off, so i would just take it off, and if it bothers you that much for street (heck, most street cars that see alot of drag use i know of, don't go around turns fast) that stuff it back on, you've waisted what, 20mins? i take that long to poop. then, after you get to the track, just unbolt the endlinks.

Yeah, I will take it off and leave it off. What little driving on the highway, it wont matter.

I have the one off my 92 parts car that I never put on. Its much bigger than my stock 89 one. Might have to sell it since I wont be running it.
