"Bomp" sound when braking to a complete stop and right turns...

What does this sound like? Tie rods or bushings?

Only when the car comes to a complete stop does it "bomp" A friend of mine said I need to replace something on the driver side tire area...and by something I mean he said it in spanish! LOL!!! He's my girlfriends brother.

Any ideas?

thanks, KEVIN

My buddy had that happen. Turns out there was a big crack near the steering box that was snapping back against itself - if that makes any sense.... one side of the crack got caught behind the other during acceleration. During braking it would snap out..... sound traveled throughout the car.....

Yeah this is a common problem with 3rd gen's that are not equiped with a "wonder bar" like most IROC's and GTA's or the higher performing cousins. My old 86 Z28 had a gnarly crack right where the steering box mounted to the frame. Best bet would be to clean it down real nice and weld it up. And get a wonderbar do it doesn't happen again.

I have a similar noise coming from my left front. Although it is not steering related. I suspect ball joints, and I will prolly just throw some tubular arms on there
