??? for those that have beat their rear wheel wells in

I am running 17x11" wheels in the rear with Eibach springs(pro kit) and the tires are directly below the edge of the quarter panel and I know that once this car gets done that I am gonna have some rubbing issues when I hit a bump.Yes,I have already rolled the lip . What I want to do is have the inner part of the wheel machined down about 1/4"-1/2"( the hub area where the wheel bolt to the car.) This will allow the wheel to move inward and get rid of the clearance issues. BUT... then I will have issue with the inner part of the tire and wheel rubbing on the inner wheel well. My question is, what is involved in getting about 1" more clearance in the wheel well? Would I be able to get that 1 " by just hammering the wheel well in with a sledge hammer or what?

heat up with a torch and slowly work the inner wheel well in the areas you see that are or will be rubbing. make sure you remove the undercoat crap in that area and then just buy it in a can and spray it on when you're finished. i personally would think it is a bad idea to shave off some of the wheel hub to move it further back in. what backspacing are you running?

I have not idea what the backspaciong is on my wheels. I bought a set of ARE Le Mans wheels of John Le Blanc from MBA billet products in CT. I am also using a 4th gen rear. I guess I could get away with using these wheels if I kept my 3rd gen rear but then I would be beating the crap out of my wheel wells. I am not going back to a 3rd gen rear since ihave a few bucks into this one now. There is a lot fo material on the back of the wheel and it looks like I can possibly remove 1/2" w/o getting into trouble.
