locking lug stuck.

locking lug stuck.
I have a locking lug stuck on. I was wondering on some of the methods people have used to remove. Has anyone slowly drilled outs the stud and just knocked the lug off. Its on the front and I an replacing the rotors anyway. This is a factory lug so I do have a clean shot to the stud.

Take a socket and hammer it onto the locking lug nut.
Works for me whenever anyone has a wheel lock but no key
Make sure you use a Craftsman socket too so if you screw it up you can just go get a new one.

I just had to remove all four locking lugs with no key. O'rielly sells a set of two sockets that are left hand threaded and are tapered. You just tap it on a little and start wrenching. Sooner or later it will stop threading and then twist the lug nut off. The hardest part is getting the lug back out off the socket. Good luck.

I've had sucess welding an old socket(or craftsman for the free replacement) to the lugnut, if it's a lugnut lock, just use the size that fits over it and weld it to it

There must be a bunch of us idiots out there losing these things for someone to make a tool just for us. Where can I get one and how much are they? NAPA had a tool but it was like $40.

Seriously, just take a socket that's a little bit smaller and hammer it onto the lug nut, then use a breaker bar or ratchet to take it off.
After that, put the socket on a vise, close the vise until just the edges of the socket are on the jaws, then use a center punch to knock the wheel lock out of the socket.
Easy as pie. I've done at least two dozen times.
Go buy all the $40 tools you want, I'm going to keep using Craftsman sockets that are a free replacement if they break.

get a set of twist off sockets, sears, snap on , matco mac... and all the major tool companies should have them. the snap on rep just showed me a cool set the other day. had the 19mm on one side and a twist out on the other, and the set had different sizes... tap them on, and lug it off, it cuts right into the lug nut and unscrews it. ive used them at work....they work great, no matter what brand u get. they all work the same.

The set I bought from O'reilly auto parts was 12.99 and contained 2 different sized sockets. Like I said it worked great, but getting the lugs back out off the socket was a mother...

I went to harbor freight and they had the twist offs but they were only up to 5/8" so I bought a $10 set of metric sockets and went home. I was able to tap on a 20mm socket and get them off. Since I change my tires to autocross all of the time I will be getting rid of the locks.
