Torque arm bolt length
For a BMR TA on a 10-bolt rearend. I'm asking, b/c next weekend I'm traveling back to Michigan to switch cars and start driving the IROC. I purchased the TA a while ago and need to install it in a short period of time (only have thursday, friday and saturday to do any work). If anyone is quite sure of the size of the two main bolts that attach the TA to the rear end housing, please reply - I'd like to buy the hardware before I go back just to be sure I have them so I can slap the thing on quickly - don't want to have to hunt for hardware.
Thanks,
K

I believe the ones I bought last year were 7.5" long, but I'm not sure, it's been over 6 months and the mind is kinda fuzzy.
Also, why not just go to the dealer and have them look up the part number, then go to gmpartsdirect.com and order them there?
Or at least see if the dealer parts sheet lists the length. Make up some BS story on why you need it, "Oh, I can't get the ones I have laying around to fit, does it say what length/size they are?"
And on 3rd thought, I should have my old ones laying on the bench at home. Hit me up on AIM later to remind me 'tj with a nova'.

I'd go measure the TA, but it's back in MI and the idea here is to buy as many parts - as long as I'm almost 100% sure they will be correct - before I go back so I can just get to work - like I said, only have 3 days and I don't want to go chasing parts for 2 of those days.
As for the GM parts, I thought the original length bolts wouldn't be long enough with an aftermarket TA b/c the flanges are thicker?
And you all do recommend the use of lock nuts or lock washers with these aftermarket TAs?

Use flat washers and a steel lock nut. You can use lock washers, but the lock nut is best.
You can get the bolts at a hardware store or your local industrial nut and bolt place, grade 8. It's not that big of a deal. The stock parts that are on the car already will work too, again, not that big of a deal.
Edit: Spohn has a torque arm bolt kit for his torque arms. They are a little bit longer, but has everything you need. You can just buy that and be done with it.

I believe the bolt should be around 6.5", but don't quote me on that number.
