swapping drum to disk on a 10 bolt ???
swapping drum to disk on a 10 bolt ???
I live in a small town and a guy was referred to me for rear end work on his 3rd gen. this guy has a 10 bolt disk brake rear end in his 87 Camaro that is bad, he found another rear end in the junk yard but it is a drum brake 10 bolt rear end. question is can I put the 10 bolt drum brake in this guys car then swap over his disk brake parts from his bad 10 bolt disk rear end to the drum brake rear end or will I have to tell the guy if he wants that rear end (drum rear) he will have to be happy with the drum brake setup and change out not only his rear end but also his prop valve??? this guy wants his disk brakes otherwise I wouldn't be asking this question b/c the easiest fix here is to swap out the rear end and prop valve and all would be done.
IN SHORT, will the disk brake parts from a 10 bolt disk rear end simply bolt onto an originally equipped drum brake 10 bolt rear end??? both are 3rd gen rear ends.
