Tires

Alrighty, what's the best type of tires for our cars? Sticking with the all 4 are the same size tires, which tires are better and worse on the 3rd gens? They don't have to be the $200 each tires to be a suggestion, just anything with personal experience. How do you like them, how do they handle, how's the tread life? Stuff like that.

I was on a budget so I bought Kumho ECSTA 711 in 245-50-16 size. I think it's better than the old kelly and Goodyear I used to have.

i have 255 michelin pilots and i LOVE these tires.

i had dunlops before and they came apart at about 10,000 and weren't cheap.

i have about 25,000 on these and still going strong. i should get another 5k out of em. unless too much

I need tires soon too. I was thinking, Wouldnt a lower mileage rated tire thats really soft and sticky improved the bumpyness of our cars ?

Sumitomo HTR plus. $85 a tire. Good all season, I'm on my second set now.
Search www.tirerack.com
They have plenty of tires to choose from and you can't beat their prices.

I've looked over all of the tires at Tirerack, and my favorite is the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval. Good all around ultra performance summer tire. Summer tire is all I need in Vegas, not too much rain or snow here.

The reason I'm looking into tires right now is because my car's tires are low on tread, have three different "stuck on the car" dates, and are the wrong size. I also wanna get new wheels. I have gotten my tires from Discount Tire, and they always suggested 225/60/16 for my stock wheels. After being here for a while, I looked into new rims and tires and found out, hey! I've got the wrong size tires, and it's pretty off. This is after nobody could figure out why my front right tire would rub with a metal sound on tight turns(different size wheels in front and back, know it now). Just thought I would flame the business for being ignorant of the stupid little quirks of my car. Thanks Discount Tire!

sux when you get wrong advice.

up date on my tires.........

ran over the titanic and punched a hole you can put your finger in. soooooo, i decided to replace all 4 since it was gonna be time soon anyway.

after 2 hours of calls i will have to wait days to weeks to get the michelins, if at all. sams lists them but when i tried to order it tells me they are "unavialable".

looks like kumho for me. hate to do it but they tell me they are better tires than the goodyears etc. let you know what i think in the next few days.

oh ya, i am gettin 255r50 16s. they rub just a touch when turning in the front but work and look just fine.
