Clunking noise when I turn left

Engine: 3.1 V6
Transmission: TH-700-R4
Clunking noise when I turn left

This is on a 91 Firebird.Whenever I turn left,once in a while I hear a little clunk under the car in the steering system and I also feel a little "thug" on the floor by my feet.Now this only happens when I am "on the gas" not when i am slowly making a turn with free feet.What can this problem be

Hey. I have the exact same problem with my 91 rs. Only on left turns and when "on the gas" too. We always figured that maybe it was in a wreck once or something. The clunking depends on how much force is being put on the right side of the car during the turn and thats the side the sound comes from. The more force, the more clunking. Sounds like a machine gun a times.

I am having the same problem. When I had my 89 RS inspected they told me that the passenger inner tierod end was failing. I replaced both tierod ends and still the same clunk.
