Spohn Rear Coil Over Kit
Anybody else have one of these? I was wondering where/how the reinforcement plate should be welded, just a few spots, or more? Heres a pic of it from thier site
Hopefully somebody will see this, otherwise I guess I will just call tomorrow. Then all I need is the brake brackets and hubs from ebmiller (pm if you see this) and the car will be back on the ground

Are you running an interior? If not, I'd probably just bolt it in with four bolts just in case you decide to switch setups or sell it.
I don't have any experience with them though.

Kinda bumping this up, but that looks like it would be a great set up. i am currently trying to stuff, 335's under my car, and have it all tuck in. I am trying to invent some kind of minitub. But the damn coil springs are what I am about to hit now. Any chance you can post pics of this set up in your car.
I would fully weld the entire plate. But that is just me. I can also weld myslef, and know for a fact that i am NEVER going to sell my car.

well, what i ended up doing was welding as much around the circle as i could, as much in the front and rear, and also a bit on the side. it was very hard for a couple reasons, 1. no room to work, 2. overhead. i had never done anything over head before, the welds look like hell, but theyre solid for the most part
Its actually my design I e-mailed to Spohn.
I actually suggested having bolt provisions screwed into it so you have the option to either bolt it in place or weld it based on yoiur preference for possible future removal (In the case of a racing class not allowing for a coilover setup in the rulebook)
He did not opt to put the drilled mounting holes into it, weld-on only. It only needs to be tack welded in a few 1inch increments around the outside of the plate edge so you do not overheat and warp the chassis sheetmetal.
Here's my prototype sketch I posted on this website a few years ago on this idea-

so with everything finally on the car, even with the spring all the way down on the shock, the car is still as high if not higher then stock in the rear
would it be possible to run a 10" spring instead of the 12". prolly a better question for spohn, but if anybody on here knows.

is there any clearance problems with that spring and a thich rear sway bar? from the looks of that pic it looks pretty damn close if the spring was lowered all the way... i have the thick Spohn Drag rear sway bar

sure you can run a 10" spring.. You'll prolly have to get a stiffer rate spring though.
When ya get it driving and racing, take it to the track and get the weight of the rear of the car, and then you'll be able to figure out exactly what you need for your car.
Sounds like ya removed a lot of weight in it.
