Rusted Frame :( PLEASE READ

The frame on my car has a rusted frame but im not really sure how bad is real bad. I mean it passed ny state inspection and i didnt know the people but i think my frame is bad. Its not creeking or anything and runs fine but i think there is a couple rust holes in. It is right up near the floor pans and crossmember where the frame rust is. I could be wrong and they might just are suppose to be there. I really hope so. Im gonna try and get some pictures of the underneath tomorrow. Does any have pics of what the frame itself is suppose to look like? Has anyone checked prices to see what this sorta stuff costs. I did a search on here but didnt really find exactly what i was looking for. Thanks for any help. I love my camaro

it looks worse than that. There is more rust. I know that the floor pans have holes in them. I wanted to get out and get pictures but were getting rained on all day because of katrina.

honestly if it's nearly as bad as the car in the picture i showed you i'd get out. strip the car and get a new one while these cars are still relatively inexpensive to buy in nice shape. the blue car i bought was so shot that you could push 40% of the floor pan and move it an inch or so in a rubber band state. the owner just plastered por over the rust in hopes no one would notice. i bought it in the dark in the middle of winter as a parts car anyhow but it can not be restored with out spending way more then it's worth.

good luck.

Well to be fair that would'nt pass our MOT test, so someone was pretty generous.
But it can be put right if you know a good welder, either piece it up, or get replacement repair panels. Its obviously worrying you a bit to bring this up, and its good some people do. Better than burying your head and hoping it goes away.

Thats looks a lot like my 91 RS did...I bought new floorpans...cut welded those in myself...then I found gaping holes in the upper wheelwells(front and back),fixed those....including upper strut mounts....after 6 bottles of argon for my MIG welder and a 10 lb spool of wire..not to mention countless hours...I sold it...bought a rust free 87 ,2 owner car
It can be fixed....but in my opinion...I would'nt
Good luck either way you go
Later

I would say get another thirgen while there are still nice ones out there for a reasonable cost. I know all to much about rust. Take my K5 Blazer for instance. All I wanted to do was replace a section of the floor and the rockers and now its turning into a full frame of resto with all new floor, doors, rockers, body supports, and some firewall patching. If I hadn't goten so far into the project I would of got rid of it but i cant now. btw im only 18. Good luck

I think it's the old Spohn ones, before he went with tubular pieces. If not, It's the same design anyways.

sorry I don't mean to hi-jack your thread, but where would be a good place for me to find a driver's side replacement floor pan?
