ok I have 87 iroc 350 first off just changed the tranny out. was an auto now a 5 speed. the car would spin with no wheel hop but now it wheel hops bad.
I have had the same problem but just other way around it is my 67 camaro and yes I still have it, auto would wheel hop but stick would not. I know they are 2 diffrent cars leaf spring to coil spring but just not sure what would be the best choice to get my iroc to stop the wheel hop before I screw something up and I really like the car with a stick the way it should of been made to start with.

 

This may be BS, but bottom gear in the manual tranny is lower than the bottom gear in the auto therefore the wheels spin slower for a given engine RPM, could the slower spin speed cause wheel hop? Or have you got torque arm issues when you swapped to the manual?

The only thing i can thing of is that you did something different to the suspension when you swapped it ove. The auto should have had a lower gear, at least if it was originally a 700r4 they have a 3.06 first gear IIRC and thats about as low as you're going to get.

 

well thats just it I tried to make sure everything was just as it was before the swap.
I mean before the tranny went bad on me I could stand on it at about 10 mph and it would break both tires loose in first second and thrid with no signs of it wanting to stop spinning.
now I have to addmit it is not running as good as it did then but I am working on that.
I guess I will have to check the tq arm to see if it is binding up or something. thanks for the ideas and if you think of any more let em fly I will let everyone know whats up when it is running again.
