i have P215/65R15 tires and i need new ones but i want a tire that has a V-tread pattern for wet traction...my car is only allowed on the streets during summer so i dont need to worry about ice or anything. but i dont want the ugly tires that they offer is there any size bigger i can go without switching rims? i know i can do a 215/60 15 but i dont know about any other size and i want to get as fat of a tire on these rims as possible...they're 15" by 7" i believe. they're on a 1985 firebird s/e

235/60-15 is a good size for these cars with that size wheels.

 

also, 225/60-15 are more readily available..

i like the yokohama advan ad32r but its sizes are 205/50 15 and a 225/50 15....the schools computer im on wont let me see the tire calc but at the time i only knew of the 205/50 15 size....im mainly lookn for a meatier lookn tire what i can find with a V formation on the tread.

 

I don't know what your budget is, but the Falken Zeix 512 will fit anyones budget and give you more bang for the buck than any tire out there. Plus they come in the size you're looking for, which is the same size I have (factory stock size) and am looking to replace. I checked a few local tire stores near me and found one that will hook me up with 4 mounted, balanced, tax, disposal fee, valve stems, everything for $303. If you figure Edge will sell you 4 for $168 plus shipping (Florida to me in Cali = $99) then I'm getting a great price locally.

I have a set of these on another car and, although they aren't a top of the line dry weather only hi-perf tire, they are great in the wet. From my experience, thirdgens can use all the help you can give 'em in the rain!

When my tyres are next up for renewal I'll try some - there's a few companies in the UK offering makes from across the pond now.

Currently running Prelli P600 235/60 15 up front and general XP2000 255/60 15 rears.

215/60 15 seems on paper to be too skinny but then I've always been a fan of fat rubber.

 

I have 245's on 15's all around, that fit nice on stock 15X7 rims, I think that is as big as you can go with changing rims.

but I too am a fan of fat tires and would like to know if 275's will fit in the rear without changing anything?

 

az_brent, take a look at the Yokohama AVS dB S2s. That's what I have on my car and it fits all of your criteria. As an added bonus, it won't affect your speedometer much (if at all).

I have a set of BFG radial T/A's that I wanted to put on my 92. They are 235-60-15's for the front and 255-60-15's for the rear. Haven't put them on yet because I thought they might rub somewhere. Does this size tire clear everything ok?

 

those size will be alright. it wont rub.
