Ride height.... considering goin lower

Ok, I know that all of you that drive IROC's know that sitting on the stock suspension, they sit kinda low with the ground effects. I would love to lower it a little, but with stock suspension I already have to creep up driveways extra slow, etc. Does lowering the car 1'' make enough of a difference that I will have to drive drastically differently? Keep in mind this is a street car.

You guys that do have ur car lowered approx 1''. do u have major ground clearance issues? Bottoming out? Exhaust scrapping? Tailpipes scrapping on hills? Banged/scratched up ground kit?

With lowering springs your car may scrape less than it currently does. Heres why. Under heavy braking your car will nose dive more and scrape at intersections. The aftermarket lowering springs have a stiffer spring rate which will keep the car from diving so much under those conditions. I have Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs on mine. I scrape my Alston SFC and occasionally the cat on tall speed bumps and extreme radiused driveway entrances. Now that I've had them installed a year, they have settled a bit. I scrape the front gfx about as much as I did with the 10 yr old worn stock springs. If I take the intersection slowly at an angle I usually don't scrpe at all. Some dimensions so you can compare to yours: Front spioiler clearance 8", air deflector (under radiator support) 3-3/8", front wheelwell lip (at tire centerline) 26-1/4", top of fr. tire to lip 1-1/8", rear wheelwell lip 26-3/8", top of rear tire to lip 1-1/2".

can i go to 1.5 front, and 1.75 rear on lowering springs??? Eibach.com only has 1" front and rear springs for convertibles...i dont see what the difference is....i just need something to make the new wheels look good. they are 17x9 if that makes a difference....the reason i ask about 1.5 and 1.75 is b/c i found a GREAT deal on a set of those...

I have Hotchkiss lowering springs in my car, and I do notice a bit more bottoming out. My cat get's scrapped on extreme drive ways, and the front airdamm under the car scrapes all the time at intersections. When I go slwer at intersections or angle the car it's usually not an issue. Maybe I'll just go with an air-ride system that way I can raise or lower it when needs be.

Believe it or not the springs are only "1 lowering springs. With all the suspension mods that have been made to my Camaro, I have to say it kicks *** now. but even before any mods were done, I still scrapped at intersections.
