Proper tire pressure?

I'm running Pirelli PZero Nero's in 245/45-17's on 17x8 ROH Snypers. The tires have a max psi of 51 and I was wondering at what pressure should I run these for maximum comfort? I don't know what it should be since the owner's manual no longer applies, and all the company websites say I should "check the owner's manual."

The owners manual for my 88 Formula (305 TBI) set pressure at 32 # psi if I remember right. Stock 245 / 50-16's. I went through three sets of tires (120k miles) at that pressure. Car weight and tire footprint are the determining factors. Currently running same size tire on my 89 Formula at 32 psi, and I find it comfortable. NEVER go up to the max rating on the tire without good reason, 'specially on cast aluminum wheels.
