Solid engine mounts.

Sorry not sure where to put this. What are the downside to running solid engine and transmission mounts in your car? Besides the vibrations.

If the car twists it is very possible to break the case on the transmission. This is usually fixed by running solid motor mounts with a poly trans mount.

I would never recommend the solid tranny mount. Too easy to break the tranny case. I run a front motor plate and still use a poly tranny mount. I'm still debating on putting in a rear motor plate. There's not a lot of room to work with. I'm considering the rear motor plate because if I break the transmission, there's nothing else holding the back of the engine up. With solid motor mounts in the stock location, the engine will still stay in place athough it will tip back slightly even if you take the tranny right off. With rubber of poly mounts, it will tip back a lot.

Solid motor mounts are recommended to keep the engine from rocking around from the torque. Poor man's fix using rubber or poly mounts is to chain the engine down but this isn't a great fix. Some vibration will probably be noticed in the frame but not as much as you would think.

If you are going to run solid motor mounts stick with a Poly trans mount.

I run a solid trans mount. However, I am also using a stock crossmember, which offer some flex. I really have never seen a broken case from the trans mount. You would have to have the wheels in the air and the chassis twisting extremely hard for that to happen.
