Steering Column Shroud Removal
I have discovered that my rear left brake light not working on occasion has something to do with the wiring in my steering column because I can make the brake light shut off by tilting my steering wheel up and down. I believe I have a loose connection or a wire that is broken internal to the insulation. There is a plastic shroud piece just forward of the turn signal assembly that must be able to come off. How do I get this off? Do I have to take the entire steering wheel off to get to this? Any help is appreciated! Does anyone have any directions to do this or schematics of the eletrical side of the steering column assembly?

That plastic piece comes off the top so the majority of the steering column needs to be disassembled to remove it.
Just disconnect the mutifunction switch harness (signal stat) and pull it up through the column. Either repair or replace the switch with harness.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have the all digital dash and the radio controls on the steering wheel. Is there a step by step procedure for taking the steering wheel off?
Thanks,
Jeff
