I have one, no pics though, sorry. Friend installed it on his hoist, so it went fairly quickly. It was a bit costly, if I remember correctly, at $99??? I think that was the price??

I installed it with TDS wonderbar, then KB stb soon after. I've had Mac sfc for few years already. Car is pretty tight. I think the combination of everything togeather is what makes it, individually, I'm not sure if the difference would be very noticable for the brace, especially for street use. I know it is doing something, a brace is a brace, and Kenny Brown KNOW their stuff. Like I said, pricey though. You may want it as one of your last upgrades on your list of to-do's.

im a head of you
you are right leave it for last. Thats why i am inquiring about it. I currently have Edelbroke stb for TBI, TDS wonder bar and UMI Sfc's. I am wondering if ill notice any difference at all if i get this lower chassis brace. If i get this brace after that it will be a roll cage.

Easier to explain if you saw it. Small plates go up just in chassis, brace goes under car just at trans pan screw bolts into plates up in chassis, pulls togeather to tighten. Done. Longest part is putting the plates up in chassis. Once you look up under the car you'll see where the plates go. My friend installed it, pretty quickly, so I recall it went something like that. If you have a hoist, maximum 30 minutes worst case scenerio.

any drilling or welding involved?

If your driving on the street, a rollcage could be a bit of overkill. KB made a super steet cage for 3rd and 4th gens, but they stopped production on the 3rd gen one, not enough demand. It is NOT a saftey or rollover device, it's a chassis stiffening device.
But again, unless your roadracing at a track, what you have done now should be more than plenty for whatever abuse of hard driving done on the street. The brace will help a bit, but weigh in the cost. If you want it, buy it, but if your at all hesitant, don't bother with it.

No drilling or welding involved. Maybe a bit of using the drill to enlarge some already holes for the bolts to fit a bit better.

You can buy it directly from Kenny Brown if you want, but I got mine from Thunder Racing. Great guys to deal with.

question:
not saying or implying they will but hypothetically speaking how many people would be interested in purchasing a lower chassis brace either of them did? and what price would you be willing to pay?

In my mind the KB one was way overpriced (120) from year one before KB went out of business.

I for one would be purchasing one if either of them did and would be willing to pay about the same amount i did for my wonderbar (TDS) as these two braces are so similar in appearance (they serve different purposes though)

I talked to an employee from Kenny Brown Performance in the last 2-3 months. As far as I know, they're still going. They still have the web site up even.
But for arguements sake, if they went under (which I'm positive they didn't ) they took their brace with them. When I bought mine from Thunder, it was drop shipped from KB even though I bought through Thunder, so I don't think Thunder, or even Year One for that matter, stock many, if any.

the KB one, in my mind, is way overpriced. I feel as it is so similar in appearance to the wonder bar that it should cost around the same. If another supplier created one, had alot in stock and the price was around 50 bucks Im sure it would be a hot seller. I would definately buy one.

any comments on this issue?
