Smallest Adapter Size

ok I know theres been alot of confusion about this but I wanted to know what the smallest adapter size I could run for a 4th gen offset wheel would be (56mm in particular).I know 2" is most common but I know some people on here are running smaller than that. I would also like to lower my car with some sportline springs or something like that.I want as little fender gap as possible. I'll be running 18" ZR1 wheels with 265/35/18 tires. Also pics would help as far as the clearance inside the wells go. Thanks- Jason
