HELP Extreme camber Issue

So take a look at the obvious problem on my recently purchased car.. the tires on each side are badly cambered to the negative side....i know this is solid axle car, but WTF?!

I HOPE the axle isnt bent, and it wouldnt make sense for both sides to be the same way...A buddy told me that it could be a matter of the struts back there...i havent had a chance to look up under there due to the weather. I have ordered new shocks and struts and coils to install....Any ideas?

Could be bent axle tubes. Hows the wheel bearings and axles? Should be making lots of noise if those are that worn out though.

If the axles themselves were bent, the tires themselves would change camber as they turned.

definitely weird. looks like the axle housing is screwed. get another one.

if you had irs, i would say bad struts/springs, but you don't have one .

yes, im sure it was raced somehow. im getting this car put right. i ordered a whole different rear end, and coils, shocks, etc. Just wondered what exactly this problem was, two equally bent axles? could it have been done on purpose?

Well to me the drivers side looks to be more of an issue. But if they were in fact bent equally it could have been done intentionally.

I believe in one of herb adams books he said up to 1* negative camber is fine, but I imagine this was a race only modifcation, and something youd want to perform with an alignment rack handy.

Ive read of a few folks heating there axle tubes to acheive this effect.

Most likely yes they purposely welded the negative camber into the axle by realigning the axletubes.
