I'm very pleased with my Falken Ziex'z 245/50R16. I know a couple others who are very pleased as well. Great dry and rain traction with good wear. Never used them in snow though.

They are relatively inexpensive as well. They were $77 a piece on discounttiredirect.com with free shipping for my size. I'm sure the 255's are not that much more.

the factory 16" wheels were all HEAVY. My 17x11 rear, billet, w/ the 315/35 mounted weighs several pounds less than my stock 16x8 w/ 245/50.

- anyhow, 255/50's all corners for good ride/handling.

16" gtas were the lightest of the stock 16's. Ive heard good things about goodyear gs-d3s, but they are pricey.

Go with GTA's and BFG G-Force T/A KDW tires in the 245/50/16 size. Lite rims and awesome tires. Note "KDW", not "KDWS" which is a totally different tire.

here's a pic of my KDW's on my old 17" OZ's.

My favorite tire size choice on stock 16"x8" wheels for these 3rd gens is 245/55-16. Only a couple companies make that size (Toyo and Pirelli?). Never cared for the tire-to-fender gap with the stock 245/50-16 tires, so I went with a set of Toyo Proxes T1R 245/55-16. They keep the stock 245 tire width that works great on an 8" width wheel, plus, they're about 3/4" + larger in overall diameter than the stock tires (55 height profile). Fills the wheel/fender gap much better, and the diameter difference doesn't throw the speedo off any. They handle superb wet or dry, and the ride is great. Low noise too.
