People w/ sportlines, use front rubber isolator?

I am in the process of rebuilding my suspension. I remember reading that some people take the front rubber isolator out and put a piece of garden hose instead because the front didn't sit low enough. My isolators are shot and will either have to get new ones or use something else.

Is there any aftermarket isolators?

Thanks.

The isolator isn't very thick, and is there, I suppose, to cushion spring from pocket. I seriously doubt removing it would cause significant drop. I'd replace.

My isolater was MAYBE an 1/8" when it wasn't being crushed? I poped it back in because it would make an almost unnoticable drop even with the sportlines.

I know people take out the rear ones since those isolators are real thick and they use hose on the top coil instead to make the rear sit just right to match the front.

I read a few post from people that do it to the rears, cant recall people doing it for the fronts since those isolators are pretty darn thin.

I am about to take out my rear ones for my prokit since that darn rear end still sits to high and i have had enough of looking at it.

I just got done with my pro-kit install i droped a good inch off the front and the rear only droped about half an inch. I dont like the gap in the rear at all...then again im thinking sportlines or other 2" springs in the future...

I installed Pro springs with new spring seats. With your sportlline springs you should be plenty low enough with new seats. Stay away from the garden hose it will eventually rub through and it will be metal to metal.

Me too rear gap is excessive with mine. I plan on getting some stock springs and cutting them down.

After I installed my sportlines (without the rubber coil spring isolators), I noticed that the ride was jaw breaking and noisy...so I bought new isolators from GM and shaved the tops of them down a little and installed them in the front and rear. They helped out alot with noise and smoothed out the ride alot. If you can deal with losing some of the "lowness" of your ride then I recommend it, for me it worked out well since I have long tubes which are ridiculous for ground clearance.

I think I do remember that it was for the rear springs. My front isolators were shot so I will replace them. Once I get the car done I will post some pics. Thanks for the replies.
