Rear Control Arm Bolts
I had to cut mine off over the weekend and I cant seem to find anything harder than grade 5 (8.8 metric). I checked the local mom and pop harrdware store, home depot and lowes. anyone have any other ideas? or do you think the grade 5(8.8 metric) will be alright?

talk about one of the most pain in the *** set of bolts to get out of a car, with not even a foot of clearance under the car...lol
I was prepared and bought the hardware with the controls arms from Spohn.

Would it be a bad thing to reuse the stock stuff? I've had no problems getting mine off on the stuff I've swapped so far, and don't see any problems with the stuff that is left. Should I get new bolts and stuff anyways?

naa If the stuff you took off is in good shape reuse it. Mine were so rusted I had to cut them off. although for 15 bucks you get new shinny bolts

they're a funky shouldered design, get them from GM. $7 per. It's a 10.9 hot dipped galvanized, may not be super pretty, but they won't rust in a long time. The stover locknuts are $12 per, get those from a well stocked bolt supply house for $.50 per, M12 coarse I think. use anti seize too.

The ones on my car are great, except for the sway bars... hack saw, cussing, etc. Same thing with the Formula I'm parting. I think GM REALLY didn't want sway bars stolen. I think I'll save my money and stick with the stock hardware. All that extra money could be a new set of poly bushings for something....lol
