Have 86 IROC. Handles great, feels tight but has a very ruff ride. Good highway driving, Good tire wear, but on regular roads I feel every crack in the road. Some hard knocks. Is this normal? Thanks

Feeling bumps in road is normal.

Knocking is not. Where is it coming from? Front, rear, left, right, under center of car?

It comes from the front of the car. Front Struts are good. Very Tight. Thank you for your response.

Check the front upper strut mounts. Even if all else appears normal the bearing may be the culprit.

knocks up front can be quite a few things.

Strut hitting inner fender
ball joint
spring sitting wrong
upper strut mount ripped
bad strut
swaybar mount/endlinks bad
something loose.

May not even be suspension, it could be something else loose wiggling around.

if it feels like its bottoming out, it may be in your best interest to take a look at your bumpstops. If they're damaged or non existant, you could possibly be bottoming out your struts and doing damage to them.
