Best looking rim is a personal preference. My car has Weld Draglites. My truck has American Racing "centerline" look-a-likes.

Doing a few inner fender modifications, you can use a 15x10 rim with 5.5" backspacing. A 28 x 10.5 slick can be made to fit. I have a 29.5 x 10.5 under my car but I also have a bit more fender modifiactions since my axle is positioned back about an inch.

As for a "drag radial" tire, the P325/50R15 can be made to fit but the P275/60R15 would be an easy fit although it only needs an 8" rim.

If you want the tires to "stick out", get a 10" rim with 3.5" backspace.

Your factory tires are 26" tall. You want to stuff as tall a tire as possible under the fenders because it gives a bigger footprint from front to rear however a taller tire also needs deeper gears. Tire height and gear size will depend on how much power the engine makes and at what rpm, type of tranny, converter stall speed if an automatic transmission.

There's stock eliminator cars running low 10's on a 30 x 9" slick so big fat tires are not always needed.

must be after looks, because unless you're really pushing it(9's or better) it's not neccesary. I'm running 11.7X's in a car that weighs 4000lbs on 315/35/17 dr's(approx 26 tall, 12 wide). 1.6x 60fts consistent. Once I get done, I'm shooting for mid 10's all-motor, full stereo, a/c, power, etc, on 17's. - Hell we're running 4.6X's in the 1/8 at over 150mph on 10.5 tires.......they are 33 tall though.
- 275/60's fit about the best w/o major work. The 325's would go, but it'd take some work to make 'em fit and look right.

I currently have 29.5 x 10.5 slicks but I'm seriously considering back halfing the car after the 2006 season and stuffing 32 x 14 radials or 32 x 16's bias under the fenders. The bigger contact patch will help me with traction off the line. If all goes well, I should be at least in the high 9's at altitude this year. 2 tires are only $600 and normally last one season.

There have been cars running 8's with a 10.5" tire so big tires are usually only for looks with a low HP car.

unneccesarily big tires look goofy. pick a tire size that matches your car and forget about what "looks" good. A bad car on a small tire looks way better to me than a slow car on a big tire... I might be silly though. I run a 27x10.5" QTP on a 15x8 5.5"BS rim it fits perfectly, no need to modify the inner fender, and it tucks in under the car. Next set I buy will be 27x11.5" QTP and even those will tuck under the car.

who ever these people are they better not come to Florida. We're turning low 7's(getting close to 6's) in the 1/4 in 100% class legal 10.5 tire cars. - again though, 33x10.5, so yes they're big, just not wide.

I am using a pair of 275/50/15's on stock 15x7 wheels. Works great but looks like a@@. They don't stick out but they're 28" tall so they fill the wells up If it wasn't a race car they'd be long gone.
