Cutting 5665 coils

I've done many hours of searching at this point and have pretty much come to the conclusion that I'm going to have to cut my new 5665's.
On my 92 with 90K on the odo the free load spring height for the rears is 14.25 inches. On the new springs, I have a free height of 15 7/8 inches. I liked my original saggy height with the original springs just not the cockeyedness (word?) of them.
If I were to cut 1 1/4 coil off the new springs that would bring me to the same free load height as the stockers. Due to rate changes, will this actually lower my car below the saggy height or put me in the same ballpark? I'm a little leary of cutting off so much but I'd like to do it once instead of installing, removing, cutting, blah blah blah many times.
Any help would be appreciated.

you can toss out your coil spring isolators for a 1/2" drop or so.

cutting your springs shorter tends to give a stiffer ride, IIRC.

rear springs are pretty easy to remove and replace, i'd do this in small increments. Try cutting 3/4 of a coil, and remove the isolator. If you like it, great, if you want taller, put back the isolator, if you want shorter, cut even more and put the isolator back in.
