these drag tires? newb to drag kinda
ive been going to the drag strip for over 2 years, probably 3-5 times a year and finally hit the point where i need tires that will hook up. im currently running Cooper Cobras at about 18-20lbs/psi and spinning all the way through 2nd gear w/ my v6 setup (see my site for details), they suck!!!!! i found these tires and was wondering if theyll work and whose used them? i want a good drag tire, i wanna finally hook up. theyre BF Goodrich g-Force T/A drag radials. theyre a 235/60/15. O.D. is 26.1, tread width is 8.0. theyre about the cheapest and only thing i can find for a 15". what do you all think of these, any experience or opinions?

From what I can see, the G-force drag radial is a front wheel drive DOT slick. There are a lot of choices from other manufactures if you want some slicks.
If you want to hook up, buy another set of rims and have some race slicks installed on them. Keep your high mileage tires on the car for street use. You'll quickly wear out any kind of slick even the DOT rated ones if you use them on the street.
Depending how old your Coopers are, I'd say bump up the tire pressure. Street radials don't like going below 28 psi and usually perform better when bumped up to about 35 psi. A radial isn't like a wrinkle wall slick. If the pressure is too low, the center of the tire lifts up off the ground and gives you less traction.

I've heard and experienced the exact opposite. I found my M/T ET Radials hook the best at 18 psi, same with all the guys I talk to at the track. If you're going to go with a drag radial the Mickey Thompsons are by far the best.

M/T radials are not cooper daily driver tires. the M/T tires are made to be run with a lower pressure, street tires are not. if he wants to hook at the track then buy another set of rims and some 26x10.50 ET street slicks and call it a day.
