full tubular front end?

Did a search found nothing but tubular k members. Wondering if its possible to chop everything forward
of the firewall and have a tubular frame welded up front?

Third gens are a complete unibody car. There is no real frame. It's all multiple layers of sheetmetal. Unlike first and second gens where the front subframe can be easily unbolted and replaced with an aftermarket tubular subframe, third gens would require much more work to do the same thing.

It's more common to get an entire tube chassis and drop a third gen body onto it.

As mentioned above, anything can be done with enough time and money.

I'm going full-frame myself. Still gonna be a full-on street car though with a/c and power everything.
- If you went through the work it would take to "front half" the car in tube, you'd be past the point of going full frame. There'd be more work(and weight) involved in trying to do just a tubular front frame than a full chassis. However, you could remove the front fenderwells/structure and build a tube strut mount that tied back to the factory front sub-frame. That plus a tube k-member could loose more weight than you'd imagine, and give you A LOT more room in the engine bay.

thats a great way to lighten the front of these cars and gives you a lot more room under the hood. It takes some time and thought and work to get the upper bars tied to the a-pillar/firewall/door hing area securely enough to withstand the load of the struts, especially if you don't have full cage.

blyth18md - that car is owned by a buddie of Guido's isn't it?
I found it doing a search for something once...can't remember what for....
- Actually I found it on a post another guy did attempting to do the same thing, only his initial try wasn't gonna hold up. I think Guido posted those pics on that thread....
