You couldn't do it without grossly modifying the rear half of the car, and I can't imagine why someone would go through all the trouble for such a horrendous downgrade in performance.

I agree with Apeiron. Why would you go through near that much work to down grade your suspension?

There are some good reasons for using leaf springs. It would be cheaper than a four link if you were installing some very wide tires out back, also easier to install a stronger rear axle like a 9inch from a truck. Just line it up and weld the brackets to what's left of your frame rails, sure beats blowing your weakass tenbolt at the track or spending a grand on something like a 12bolt, 9bolt, etc.

What are your reasons for wanting to do this?

...ok, so now that you have wider tires, a better axle and less traction/no rear seat and had to completely re-do the rear subframe so that the springs could mount/support the car....what have you gained?
- Not trying to argue, just trying to understand any reason for this. I'm running 315/35 rear tires on 11" wide rear wheels with only slight trimming of the rear bumpstop to fit them. All home-made tq arm suspension and a built 10-bolt, cutting consistent 1.6X 60fts and running 11.7's no problems.

plus if u want a weekend warrior without the cost just slap a 12bolt and leaf springs in it with traction bars
