New wheels

I had a post a while ago about what the biggest tires that i could tuck under the back of my 84 ta were.Well ive searched different sites for nice wheels at good prices, and tires for good prices. Well, i think i found what i want at summit, as im on a budget. They are 15x7 cragar flash wheels with 4 inch backspace.I couldnt find what i wanted in an 8 icnh wide rim, but 7 should be fine. The tires i have found are yokohama avid st's in 235/70/15, which is 28 inch tall, just whati need as im tryin to get my revs down a bit.But my question is with the 235/70/15 on that 15x7 rims with 4 inch backspace rub? I wanted a 15x8 with 275/60/15 but i could find a rim i liked at a good price with the right backspace.I know some of you are thinking, yeesh, a tall sidewall narrow tire, well im not worried about handling that much, just a good daily driver. So will this fit without rubbing?

235/60R15 is good on the front, on 15x7 wheels

i'm not sure about your backspacing issue, I have 15x8 with 275/60's on the rear, and no idea what the backspacing is....

Most people go with the 17 x 9.5's with 275/40/17 tires. They will fit without an issue all around. Thats what I plan on getting but in the TT2 Classic series with the dark center.

Woah, I ment 9.5. And ya, the 40. I couldnt remember what it was. But like I said, I am gunna go 8 in the front but with the same tire size as well. You say they will fit on at no problem, so you dont need any kind of spacers or anything?

XxGeinNothingxX - If you're gonna run the same size tire front and rear, run the same size wheel.
- lets not steal someone elses's thread here guys.....

BanditMan - Why not just go ahead and run the 235/60 on the 15x7? They'll tuck a little, but not bad. I think a 235/70 would look to much like a truck tire....

thanks shagwell. I wanted the 70 for the rollout, cuz i have 3.73's in the back with a turbo 350, and with 24 inch tires that i have ow, i turn around 2700 at 55= bad gas mileage, really bad, lol.Wht do you mean it will tuck a little?will it fit? How tall is the 235/60? I would like to keep the look i have of my rims and tires, beacuse they poke out a lil and have that nice aggressive wide stance, but then id have to dive into the axle, i dont really wanna do that. Thanks yall.

235/60 is about 26" tall. tuck = bubble slightly, because of the wheel being a bit skinnier than the tread width. I think you 235/70 idea should fit, as long as your springs aren't to worn out. 15x7 with a 4" bs probably isn't gonna stick out much if any. - I understand getting your r's down, I would just run a little wider. 255/70 maybe..... That way it'd atleast look more like a car tire. - I've seen 275/60 on the factory 15x7's. 7" is a bit skinny for them, but if you keep after the air pressure they'd probably wear fine.- they're right around 28 tall...
