replacing bushings before alignment
i've already installed a fresh set of poly sway bar end links in the front end of my 89' firebird formula, just wondering what other cheap things i should replace before getting a GREATLY needed alignment done on the car. thanks!
I would check to make sure the balljoints and a-arm bushings are good. They are relatively cheap but taking the a-arm off to have them replaced takes some time. If they check out good then you probably don't need to replace them. Another thing I would check is the condition of the struts, if they are blown I would replace em before getting the alignment (or else you'll just have to align again later on down the road). One cheap thing you can do though, those Coleman Racing solid tie rod adjusters to replace the crappy stock ones, they are like $20 for the set, but like balljoints and a-arm bushings, takes some time to install them.

Many places also have a lifetime alignment deal. I just got one at Firestone, $119 (twice as much as most other single alignment jobs) - and they will realign every 5000 miles as long as I own the car! Get one of these, and do as many suspension mods as you like as you get the cash, and just keep taking it back for free realignment!
