Unbelievable!
I went to replace my motor mounts, when I put my new motor in and found that I have to drop the lower A-frame, just to get a wrench underneath the frame too hold the nut. Is this normal or am I losing my mind?
By the way, I decided to just put the motor in without replacing the mounts, at this time.

Dropping the a-arms definently makes it easier but if you have a properly bent wrench you can hold the nuts through the holes in the crossmember. It would take time and patience to get the right wrench but it can be done. Droppping the a-arms is the way to go though.

Believe it or not, my crossmember is solid. The only holes that I have are where the A-frames bolt to the cross-member. Just my luck.
