NEW gale banks firebird bodykit??
So...in this months issue of Carcraft, there is a little snippet and photo of a new bodykit for firbireds that Gale Banks is introducing (supposedly to debut in Jan 05).
They supply a link: www.bankspower.com
Only problem is that their website shows nothing about the new kit. Carcraft had a very nice photo of the BADDEST looking white bird I've ever seen. The kit looks like it has new rocker panels, new hood, new nose, and new spoiler. I think this is the best looking bird I've ever seen.
The hood is unbelievable. UNbelievable! Never seen anything so well done. The nose reminds me of something I've seen here.....maybe the Banshee nose? Cant remember. But it look soooo good.
Anyway....I'm about to go buy the mag and scan it because I cant find any other info online. I'm going to call them tomorrow to see whats up. They are supposed to have a Camaro kit too.
I know that alot of people here are squeamish about kits....BUT TRUST me. When you see this (well maybe excpet for the spoiler) you'll be like "Damn...this is how GM should have done it in the first place."
I cant wait to see what they have in store for the camaro.
Anyone else seen what I saw or know anything?

Is it this one?

Running on nothing but straight gasoline, this Banks twin-turbocharged Firebird scorches the Salt at 287 mph to become the new World's Fastest Passenger Car. Despite dozens of challenges, Banks 'Bird held the title for 10 years.
"The three-year buildup paid off during the 38th annual Bonneville Speed Trials when the Banks 'Bird nabbed the class win, making it the World's Fastest Passenger Car. And that was on gas with 'only' 22 pounds of boost; the twin hairdryers will generate a maximum of 38 pounds of boost!" —Hot Rod Yearbook

If you're really curious.. try moving from this forum to the Body and Int. forum where this was posted just, oh say... yesterday (the 15th)... https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=267597
And even though the blurred pic is awful in quality... it (the fx pkg)looks straight out of the late70's/early 80's (like Covette Summer type 70/80's)

Its the one in the link....not the landspeed 87 GTA. So glad someone scanned it!
It looks much better in a higher quality photo. Those grey triangles in the hood are actually 3-dimensional (i.e not just painted on the hood).
I just contacted marketing at bankspower....had to leave a meassage though. I asked for info and more pics. Carcraft article says they have a kit for camaro also, but they only had a pic of the bird.
While it may not be pleasing to everyones eyes, I think its the best looking dressup for birds. Anxious to see what they have in store for the camaro.
Will let you know when i get some more info from bankspower.

Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, a Car Craft reporter
misinterpreted a comment he heard at Banks. We're not producing such
panels at this time. The idea is simply under consideration. However,
calls like yours give us an indication of the interest in such
panels. If production of such panels becomes a reality, that news
will be posted on our website.
We regret the confusion the Car Craft piece has caused, but again,
thanks for your interest.

The nose looks and aweful lot like the OTP nose I have trying to get imported. Man I want that thing! If I could just get some shipping quotes from them in Germany!
