Mashed front bump stops - a problem?

A while ago I redid my sway bar bushings, and I saw the front bump stops on the a-arm were all smashed up, as if the suspenion was constantly bottoming out. I believe everything is stock, except for the sway bar bushings I put in.
Is this an emergency sign that I need knew springs?
The car is a 91 RS with F41

Well the car is 15 years old, so it's probably due for new springs. But the bump stops are probably just deteriorated (they're 15 years old too). If the car was constantly bottoming out like that, you would definitely hear/feel it.

My rear bump stops aren't even there anymore. Just two bolts and a metal bracket.
