Steering boxes anyone?

The time has come to put on a new steering box on my 92 RS, and I was just curious if anyone had any suggestions. I would possibly like to AutoX the car and was wondering which ratio I should look into...if I should go stock or aftermarket...where I should look for the best deal and what kind of prices I am looking at. I was also curious about any one brand that anyone recommends.

I plan on lowering the car an inch and was wondering if that would make a big difference on which box to go with.

Any info is appreciated.

Yeah, but it's been covered a lot. Give a little patience and someone will provide you an answer.

You should be able to get as much performance out of a junkyard box as any aftermarket unit, if it isnt too sloppy. Their are many posts on how to adjust these boxes...I'll provide you with the info on how to I.D. the boxes but I dont have the adjustment instructions handy.

very basic website

They are up to date, barely.
Call them up.
They rebuilt my steering box in June of 1987. I dug out the reciept. They still have the same phone # and same address (did I say that? Oh well.) I originally got their name because they were doing all the racers power steering boxes.

I just had the steering box on my Z28 rebuilt by Lee. It made a huge difference. There is zero play, and it works really well.

Aside from price....would it be worth it to put in a performance box? I found some good looking boxes from AGR and was wondering how much better one of these would be over just a rebuilt one from O'Reilly.
